The macro recorder.


AutoHotkey s a complex Open Source programming tool that enables the user to define what buttons, keys and clicks do. Be it a mouse, a game pad, a keyboard or whatever. It contains functions to interpret contents of windows in order to fill out forms as soon as they appear.

  • problems with movement
  • unwillingness to use the keyboard more than necessary

Fields of application

  • Joystick-mouse(Script) or keyboard- mouse(Script).
  • Bypassing control schemes of video games.
  • Monitoring of windows.
  • Setting transparency for certain windows.
  • Keeping certain windowson top.
  • Autocomplete of abbreviations (e.g. "asap" will be changed in complete form "as soon as possible").
  • Starting programs with key combinations.
  • Using remote controls (e.g. manipulation of Audio volume)
  • Manipulation of data that sits in the clipboard.

These are just a few examples.

The macro recorder makes it easier to create scripts so it won't be necessary to be a pro when it comes to coding. The website is available in several languages and documentation is thorough.
